Preparing The Future Project
Designed for the future of access for young people in poor communities into the labour market, the Project Preparing the Future (PPF) was established in federal law for the apprentice and registered by the municipal council of the rights of children and adolescents. In certain phases of the PPF, these are at the base:
- Selective process (proof of linguistics, Portuguese mathematics, general knowledge etc.
- 2) Interview.
- 3) Study the socio-economic profile.
Through this project, young people can acquire the training of a future formal profession and facilitate their entry into the labour market as soon as they acquire the legal age.
The vision of the social responsibility of business is a fundamental partnership for the project success. Registration in the portfolio of work enhances the self-esteem of youth and family since the vast majority of them live in socio-economically disadvantaged areas, and through the PPF can see a better future.
ICFS provides professional educators, social psychology, pedagogy, social services and other services, so that the scholar firm has the support for the insertion and supervision of young people.
We started the PPF in April 2008, with the insertion in December of the same year, of 45 young people. Some time after, PPF funds were paid to executives and employees of the companies.
There is always the ratio of youth and family, with assessments of quality of life improved after the insertion of young people with PPF.
Changes in behaviour are remarkable, values are mobilized such as the establishment of the bedroom, a vehicle of transport (cycling), were all purchased indicating that adolescents can now contribute to increased family income without implying in illegal work, preserving their educational training: as for school frequentation is mandatory.
Apprentice Training Centre
Presentation
Brazil offers many jobs but has few trained personnel. The country is experiencing a very rapid growth, and companies in all sectors, settle everywhere. Therefore, the population and especially young people must be prepared to take advantage of this growth. It is therefore important that they become qualified.
The labour market demands every day more qualified professionals ready to meet the demands of this new Brazilian society. Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds do not currently have opportunities for effective training. Their future is very uncertain.
The new ICFS would therefore overcome this deficiency. It would help disadvantaged youth, to offer them a chance to integrate the workplace with qualifications. It would become a sort of “supplier” in the area of qualified professionals, skilled labour, and providing quality services.
